Official BAD guy thread
So my PITA transaction with dude01 is ongoing. UPS denied my claim for shipping damage, but per their policy, returned the valve cover to dude01. After waiting for over a month without any word from dude01, I PM'd him, and he told me that the valve cover was sitting in his house. On November 13, dude01 said that he was sorry that the transaction had gone so wrong, so to make it up to me he was going to mail me the valve cover along with a Spoon spark plug cover that he's been trying to sell.
Nov. 14th - dude01 says he will mail the parts out on Monday
Nov. 30th - I PM him asking for a tracking #, since I still don't have the parts and I'm going out of the country for a while. dude01's reply: "Hey Zach,
Still haven't had a chance to send it out yet. Work has me all tied up. I haven't be @ inline for months now =/ I will try to get it out soon. Prob in the next two weeks.

I wait, and wait, and no parts show up. So I PM him on Jan. 4th saying: "Huy,
What is going on with these parts? I haven't heard from you in over a month, and haven't received the parts.

He replies on the 5th, saying: "Been busy I haven't had time to go to Inline. I'm going to be backed up for months working on a special project. So its not going to be anytime soon.

Are you kidding me? He's had my money since October 2nd, I have no part (lnot the valve cover, let alone the bonus part he promised to send to rectify the transaction), and now it's going to be "months" before he sends me the part?
How is this fair at all?

Like I said before I wasn't refunding you the money for the valve cover. I sent you a good valve cover. I just felt bad that you think you got the short end of the deal, so I tried to compensate you w/ a few parts I had left over, that never sold. I just haven't had time to send it out, and I do not dare ask Inline to ship out parts for me..... cause of the issue of you saying it wasn't pack well. You filed a claim w/ Ups. Take it w/ them.... I'm tired of dealing w/ u!! This is the last time I'm posting on this subject.

I understand that you are busy, and it is a huge hassle for you to ship out the part, so that is why I gave you the option of returning my money (which you could easily do from your computer). You did not ship out a perfect valve cover, and every member of this board who has seen the pictures agrees that it is not perfect. I understand that you did not personally mail out the valve cover, so I understand why you would not believe that it was mailed out looking the way it did, but let's get past that and focus on completing this transaction or cancelling it.
You do owe me something. You have my money, and I don't have the part that I purchased. You refusing to mail the part or return my money constitutes petty larceny. I don't know if you're forgetting that YOU still have the valve cover or what, but it is illegal. I want to be a nice guy as well, so I will give you a week to either return my money or ship out the valve cover before I press charges.

UPS told me that they will only deal with the shipper in a damaged item dispute, they won't even talk to me about the package -- they told me to talk to you.
You can't keep the valve cover and my money, legally you have to give me one or the other. You are not helping me out by sending me the part I bought from you, you are just completing your end of the transaction.
As far as offering to send me the Spoon spark plug cover, I thought that it was a very nice offering and I applauded you for doing so -- if you don't want to send it I understand, I'm strictly talking about you sending me the valve cover I bought from you. My plan is to take that valve cover to a machine shop to fix the dent and re-powdercoat it (to cover the spots where the powdercoating is nicked) so that I can install it on my car.
Please just make this deal right, I don't want to go back and forth with this any longer either, especially in court.

2. You're right, I thought someone may have been able to help me, but to no avail. I guess an ebay-style ratings system would help, and if I had filed a Paypal dispute instead of believing dude01's word, that would have helped. So yeah, dude01 is a bad seller, caveat emptor.
