Here's the couple. He's 92 and she is in her mid-80s. You can't believe how much fun they are. As he told me that night, ".. what a life.... went to a friend's funeral in the morning and here celebrating our 65th at the end of the day". He had a few beers, she had her wine, and everyone had a great time... car friends came from all over the state to share their time. We should all live so long and be so lucky.
BTW all, if you've been following this story, the Audi is sold. It wasn't via Auto Trader, Craig's list, or even my ex-employer's porthole. I mentioned it to a long time car buddy on the other side of the state just a couple days ago and then sent him an email with pictures which he forwarded to a friend looking. The friend drove 1.5 hours to look at it and within minutes of the test drive I had certfied check in hand (he brought it already made out based on our mutual buddy's knowing what my car's are like). I've never had a car take so long to sell before (almost 2 mo's) but today it went in 5 hours from the time he called to say he wanted to see it. I was beginning to think all those hours of detailing and love for that car had been for nothing. In the past my car's have sold within 1 or 2 days. Got $12.5k which was 2.5k over Kelly Blue book's top price. So as they say on tv series American Pickers... both parties are happy.
Yeah...what they said. Car friends are the best, whether its for celebrating or for helping you sell a car you've loved.. Car people in general seem to me to be well above average in the "good people" department.

Mike, I agree 100%. Most of the one's I know and like are people who enjoy life and don't take themselves and others too serious.
I spent over an hour today on the phone with a car buddy who had to sell his MGA after 50+ years due to health issues and he now travel's around in a walker (he is younger than me). Still he offered to drive two hours to come and help me sort out my problem today. I finally did with his help over the phone. But, you got'a love friends like that. And, what did he say . . . he thanked me for making him recall the methods to approach the issues I was dealing with; he said it had been too long since he worked on car but he just picked up an engine for a restoration he is going to supervise with a son-in-law and grandkids!
