^ Well, the map is showing a Cat 1 on Tues for you, so that isn't as terrible. As for my sister in Melbourne, it's showing a Cat 3 there on Mon. I talked to her and she's still deciding what to do. That worries me. But I said my piece and that's all I can do. She has two dogs, so it's difficult.

My SC sister (near Darlene) was thinking of heading to NC where her daughter lives. She doesn't plan on staying with her daughter, but nearby in a Hampton Inn. She found one that allows dogs. As Deb mentioned, folks with pets have yet another issue if they evacuate.

If my sister does leave, hope she and Darlene get out before gridlock sets in.

Thinking of you all in the path of the storm.

Yeah, the bad thing there is like the Keys - one road in and one road out. In this case Route 17.

Here is a pic of my sis's dogs, who are very relaxed about the whole thing, unlike her.

GRRRRR. Governor McMaster issued an evacuation order today for Saturday morning at 10 am. That isn't so bad since it will allow a lot of folks paid leave. The bad thing is he also ordered lane reversals at the same time. Those of us who wanted to wait a bit to leave will now have to deal with that crap. GRRRR

Well, I guess you don't have a decision to make anymore. Good luck. Are you still planning to go up to VA?

One of my sisters is leaving tomorrow. Not sure about the other one or my niece. I've not spoken to them. One works in a nursing home so not sure of her situation, the other works at a medical clinic, elective procedures i.e. endoscopy, they are closed Fridays. Maybe she's planning on hitting the road tomorrow as well. Which areas in SC are under evacuation orders?

Sorry you have to leave, Darlene. I know it won't be easy for you or Jim. Hugs.

Just drove 18 hours to just inside TN. No place to stay, every hotel/motel is booked so we are getting a little sleep in a rest area along with about 50 cars from FL

We are glad that you made it safely out of Florida. Hope the rest of your trip back home goes well.

(Is Patty still working or is she retired now, too?)
