Got out all my paint I still have - looks like I have everything for the walls and ceiling, but they are kinda old. Does paint have an expiration date? Hmmm...I see that paint that has been opened only lasts for two to four years, so I may be out of luck on all my paints. Gonna have my contractor take a look.

Still waiting on tile to be delivered for the master bath. Hope it's an OK match.

We have an interesting development. One of the residents in our tier is investigating taking out all the equipment in the HVAC closet to gain access to the master bath riser. Going to try an experiment in the 19th floor apt to see if it is going to work. If it does, would save many of us a significant amount of money involved in tearing out custom tile to get to the riser from the bath side. So Will know next week.

Well, the experiment worked!!! Yay!!! A big weight has been lifted for the master bath. At least 10 unit owners in the tier (there are 18) are going this route. This means that everything in the bath stays as is - no tearout of any kind. Very, very good news. Still have the dressing room vanity to contend with, but hopeful the riser is behind the wall to the right so it can stay in place. Will find that out when the pipe people open up the wall on 19 later this week.

That is really great news, MsP. I'm breathing a sigh of relief for you. It would seem that not only is this a big cost savings but much less time/energy spent as well. Super!

Here is the wall on right in the master bath that will not be disturbed:

Here is the mechanical closet as it looks before removal. The bath and riser are behind the wall on the left. The riser in the front on the right will also be replaced while they are in there.

Pipe work in my tier moved back three business days, so pulling the HVAC equipment has been pushed back, too. Don't want all that stuff sitting in my living room any longer than necessary! Or maybe I can pass it off as some modern sculpture.

HVAC equipment removal this morning. Pipe replacement starts Mon. Bad timing since we are going to have pretty warm temps for the next week - 80s. Boo...I have some fans. Neighbor upstairs bought two portable air conditioners and he is happy. But they are very expensive and we decided not worth it. Just have to spend more time outside of the apt in places that have AC.
