Dropped valves

OUCH!

Autopsy photos look like engine was not running lean --- trying to look for any silver lining. Good luck with the new engine & repairs.

are you sure it wasn't a 5 to 2?

Honestly I was doing a speed run and so I was at about 9k Rpms when I shifted from 3rd to 2nd..

Did you stay in it? Anytime I have ever done this in any car I have always got back out of it before the clutch fully engaged and have gotten lucky

Piston to exhaust valve contact at 10700 or better, 100%.

Likely all intake retainers are fractured. In a case this bad, very tiny cracks may be found on the exhaust retainers.

I'm usually pretty good about taking my foot off the gas and onto the clutch if i make a mistake but I couldn't tell you how fast I did it at the time

I didn't notice this before, but it looks like the valve was completely split in half... lengthwise. I don't think I've ever seen this before.

I think what you are seeing is the other exhaust valve has broken off its stem and has become embedded in the port of the adjacent valve.
