Default My high school crush

Picked up a bone stock 99 eclipse gst today , with only 30k miles on the clock. A little backstory. But when I first got into the car scene in high school a turbo eclipse was my absolute dream car. I remember reading the ads for it in import tuner magazine over and over. My first car was a 90 GS followed by a 98 Rs automatic . I completely riced the shit out of it. It had the blitz front bumper on it, stickers all over it, a huge wing with altezza lights all over it. I put full boltons and a 50 shot of nitrous in it and the only thing I could beat was a Bolton em1, it was so slow. When alot of you guys were posting on another thread here about cars you would trade ur s2k for I started to reminisce about the eclipse .For shits and giggles I went online just wondering what was available and this gem popped it. I'll get more pics of it tomorrow or when it's nice out again. Supposed to rain all day tomorrow.

I like it, Reminds me of my high school days.

I would not want the spyder, but it's still cool.

That's exactly why I bought it. Takes me back to my days at high school. I'm not a fan of the spyder either . But only 30k miles I couldn't resist. Once I put a cone air filter on it, top down with some spoolage should be nice.

I wanted an Eclipse way back in the day as well (last years of high school). Neat car! Can't say I'd buy it today but it was definitely on my radar back when I couldn't afford it. Like you, I used to read all the tuner magazines and these were often heavily modified and looked pretty sharp.

Nice. I have always wanted a GSX but love the body style of that generation in all trims.

The car needs tlc but it's all maintenance stuff. I paid 7k for the car. Kbb has it as 3800 for excellent condition. Timing belt, water pump, plugs, valve adjustment , I noticed the clutch fluid was completely empty, so maybe a new slave master is needed . Filled it up and on the 2 hour drive home it was still full. Fresh oil change , the window gets caught on something halfway down then closes and the driver door handle has a hard time opening sometimes. For a 20 yr old car I'm ok with those issues . Top works properly and it dowsnt appear to leak , as it rained the entire drive home and no signs of leaks.

I had a 95 talon tsi awd for a summer, sold it to fund college. Man I miss that car so much, taught myself how to drive stick in it. Launching it back then felt like I had a world beater.

Nice. I remember my friend bought a brand new 1996 black GSX. It was very nice.
