Heater/fan actual temperature?
Hi!
My S2000 has had a new radiator and thermostat fitted by previous owner. Doesn't overheat (3 bars) but heather doesn't blow particular hot either. Everywhere I read says it should be scalding hot... But to rule out anything, I've bought a laser thermometer that's arriving tomorrow.
Does anyone know or has heard what's the correct temperature the fan should blow with thr heater on max?
I've had my local mechanic flushing the heater matrix and things improved a little but still... Isn't as hot as mx5 was for example.
I do suspect the previous owner installed the new thermostat wrongly (i.e. now the system can't be bled properly). But before I put myself through the pain of taking it off.... Any chance I could get an actual temperature target? (I.e. at least 180F or 160F ?)
Edit. The fans blow hot... Just not what I'd call scalding hot. Hence if I could get an hint of what the thermometer should read .. this would be extremely appreciated
Cheers

I think you may need to do a more complete bleeding of the coolant system.

Just an update and for anyone that will be looking for a similar answer in the future, here's my reading after successfully removing an airlock from the heater matrix (Billman method)
92C / 197F
This at idling speed, after a short spirited drive. It was still climbing a bit, but at this point I was roasting and switched off.
The thermometer laser pointed directly at the coils down the vents.
Cheers
