CAN SOMEONE FIX THE MEMBER EMAIL ?

Cthree,

I thought that my email was fixed, but I am receiving no email notifications to any subscribed threads or PMs.

Also I am getting this interesting message on the top of the screen:
ERROR! Couldn't create shared memory segment ()

This just started a couple of days ago.

Actually, your email might not have been fixed. Email notifications have been turned off for a few days now, we're going to put in place a better system than what comes with the forums software. Ignore the shared memory error, it's just an ad thing. That will be fixed soon too with the new ad server.

Any update on the fixes for the email? I still get the [no message] in the body more often than not. And not all emails I compose and send actually get sent out. Same with the attachment problem. Thanks.

Since nobody has commented on the email I sent out to members I'm assuming it didn't get sent?

Email is being forwarded to your profile/alternate email address mailbox until we can get the email sorted out which is going to take a bit of time. While not ideal, you will at least get your emails. Check your regular email inbox for your s2ki.com emails.

I'd recommend the following:

1. Create a new inbox folder called s2ki.
2. Create a new message rule to move all messages with To: youraddress@s2ki.com to this new folder.
3. Make a copy of your normal email account settings.
4. Change the name and Reply-To: information to your s2ki.com address

This works with outlook, outlook express and most other email programs.

This arrangement is only temporary while I get a better solution to the email problems sorted out. Send yourself a test message to make sure the email is being routed to your normal email inbox.

Sorry about all the email issues. I'm struggling to find an alternate, learn it and get it running. It's going to take a little bit before I can say it's fixed.

cthree i appreciate the email which yes did get sent, my only problem is i can not get it activated to begin with (i will worry about the other problems later)... when i click on activate email it just takes me to the forums page.

I'm a computer moron, not sure if I'm doing this right.

clicked on manage folders, created a new folder "s2ki", then went to message rules, on the bottom i added a new rule, when email address equals xxxx@s2ki.com, move to s2ki. question - why can't i just let it go into the inbox? is there something specifically wrong with the inbox folder on your server and i must make it go elsewhere? then, what do i do? i did a test and i'm not receiving any emails, please help, desperate.

You can just let it go to your inbox, I think cthree suggested it so it would be easier to distinguish. s2ki.com email should be forwarding to the account you originally signed up with.

Please, I need urgent help - anyone with an admin status if they can help would be nice. I PM'ed cthree before but I don't think he's available right now.

"At this point, I'm not able to receive any kind of email from anywhere. I tried your recommendation, but nothing is appearing in the "s2ki" folder. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I need help asap. There are no return emails being sent back and I'm losing emails. How do I receive emails? At this point, I don't care about anything but being able to receive mails that were sent to me. At least this way, I can acknowledge the senders using my other email accounts. Thanks."
