Look on the bright side, we did get a BackLot Forum.

 

Why the site sponsors don't raise hell about not having a Sponsor Directory is beyond me. It can't be that difficult to implement.

I, for one, don't like clicking 'refresh' to rotate thru the site sponsor ads to find a particular company.

 

We've asked so many times we can only assume it's intentional

 

It is intentional. The sponsor/vendor directory is a small component of a large update I'm currently stress testing which revamps the entire sponsor/marketplace section of the site. The update includes a complete rewrite of all of the login/registration/session management/password recovery and validation code which is unfortunate, necessary and fundamental to support a broad range of new features going forward including mobile/iPhone support, revamping the image gallery, facebook and google integration, classified ads and, specific to sponsors, the new vendor marketplace feature designed to replace the current "group buy" forums.

The mission-critical nature of some of the update requires that it be done carefully and be completely tested before it's released. That is delaying the sponsor directory. I haven't set a firm date for the release yet. I'm still working through a number of bugs and deficiencies. It was supposed to be released a month ago.

Not exactly. You're getting a new basement, the house stays pretty much the same for now. There are noticeable changes to MyS2K, the site header and footer, new account registration and login but 70% of this update is backend or not something most people will see often or obviously notice.

The devil is in the details.
