I really don't understand how this makes a page load faster. Once an image is in your browser's cache, it doesn't matter how many times it's displayed on the page, it will load 1 picture as fast as 100 on the same page.

 

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It doesn't take longer to load duplicates of one image but different images is what takes time. Or maybe I'm wrong...?

I find it amazing that as technology takes double, trip, and quad steps, allowing faster internet and computing speeds (I remember punching the 14.4 baud, 640k mem and 16 Mhz clock speed barriers) you step us backwards.
