Discussion of Board Policy
There were no threats in my post, Interesting that you found some! Do you think that your post have inhanced this board? I drive an s2000 and visit this board to gather info and current news. I don't make threats or cop-out, and I don't come here to listen to a hand full of people who feel that they always know the best way. I would have banned a couple of others if it were my board but its not. Your assumption that the members will leave is not correct and doesn't give any credit to those members. I will also close this sorry thread by saying that I have been straighten out buy the people that run this board more than once. I respect there right to run this board as they choose and I would do the same. I like this board and if and when I get to the point that I don't like it, I'll move on down the road!!
Luder,
You know when your out of line just like I do. Bieg was out of line and he knew it too. Your opinion is just a valuable as the next persons. I think we've all learned something from the experience.
I know for one there is a limit to what will be tollerated. This thread was a good example of that. Some people were offended by his retort while others shined it on as just Bieg. The concurrent point in all of this is how would you want to be treated? With humility and respect, or with anomosity, sarcasim and descent. I think that you'll have to agree that what most of us read, was the latter. We can get our point acrossed with respect and humility, it's been done on this board many times before. I know having raised two children 27 and 21, that things are excepted far better when you excercise these two perspectives.
If I disagree, is it not sufficient to tell you directly that I "disagree based on my perspective or experience, give my rational, then be silent"? Goating, baiting, and making sarcastic, poignant comments, does nothing to contribute to a dicussion but lowers it to a point of irreverance for everyone.
I will be the first to admit that Bieg contributed very good points and opinions but was only overshadowed by his lack of acceptance of the same from others. You can't make someone listen by shouting and demanding that your right. On the contrary, most civil minded people will just stop listening. Have you ever spoken in softer tones? Generally, people will have to be quiet and listen if they want to contribute to the subject. Remember Teddie Roosvelts saying, " speak softly but carry a big stick". These are words of prudence and compassion for and towards others. It is also representative of wisdom and experience.
I apologize for my lenghtiness, I thought it important to dicuss it with you. I believe that it's time we all reflected on the current past and use it as a tool of learning for the present. I will say that I appreciate your devotion and support it's admirable but it's time to move on.
