Fraud in classifieds
Hi, I'm almost new to this forum but have quite a lot of experience on other forums, and wanted to make a warn to everyone here.
Since I created an account, I've opened 2 topics where I expressed my desire in buying some parts for my S2000.
In both, I got an inmediate answer from someone who suspiciosly created an account one day or two days ago, asking if I could confirm if I was still looking for those parts. It always repeats, and it can be seen that he/she has copied and pasted the original title.
For example, my first topic title was: "Wanted Intake + exhaust + JDP diffuser.".
This personas message is: "Let me know via email if you still need the Intake + exhaust + JDP diffuser." ... and leaves a gmail address.
The second is: "WTB: J's Racing 70 single + intake/snorkel".
The message receives is: Let me know via email if you still need the J's Racing 70 single + intake / snorkel...and leaves another gmail addess.
The users in the two messages were different.
I contacted this person via email today again, and the structure is always the same: in my case 620 GBP (I live in Spain, so the UK is nearest), and payments via Western Union or Money Gram (Paypal NOT allowed). For more detail, I copy and paste today's last one:
I have a J's Racing 70 exhaust in pristine shape and condition as seen
in the attached photos. I'm asking £620 GBP for it including shipping.
I will be shipping via UPS or FedEx on a 3 - 4 working days delivery
and shall accept payment via Western union or Money gram. What's your
shipping address?
thanks,
Pat.
Some pictures are attached, and as soon as I've seen them, they looked familiar to another member's exhaust from the USA, where he says "pick up only" and is announced for 1.200 $.

So be aware of this.
Hope this helps to contribute to this great comunity of S2K lovers!

It's best to always buy from members who have been around for a while. When posting in the wtb forum anyone can respond but in classifieds you need to be a member to post something for sale.
