Groupbuy Forum is down or not working properly

Yes, as you have noticed the topics are sorted (by default) by the date they were started. That means the new group buys are at the front and older ones are behind it in chronological order. The reasoning is very simple:
1) Group buys are always in the same place relative to the others. Whe you see a group buy posted you know how to find it again because it hasn't moved.
2) Old group buys can't be "whored to the top". Bumping GBs has no effect and there is no point in sponsors attempting to flood the front page with their group buys by simply bumping them.
3) Some sponsors were abusing the system and bumping all of their past group buy topics to the front of topic list causing other to do the same adnausium.
If you want to change the list ordering to by last post then change the sorting options at the bottom of the listing page.

finding groupbuy post is not a problem since members can subscribe & can click their MyS2K to go to their subscribed forums easily.
most if not all old groupbuys are in active & it has an effect if it goes to the first page. most members/guest look at the first few pages first/only. give out warnings to those that whored/flood out their groupbuys to the first page. please don't let one spoil things for the rest of us.
on most of my groupbuys, it has detail information on each product....
1. some buyers post feedback either good or bad.
2. some posted pics
3. DIY install is also include to help out potential buyers.
4. it also have tips and tricks on how-to installs.
all this is references for buyers & future buyers.
i've seen some sponsors re-post the same item just to be on the first page.
if i do the same, all my reference will not be in the post.
one last thing, this will prevent the groupbuy forum from looking dead.
most of the groupbuy post on the first page now has zero to only a few replies.
please take this in condsideration
I know this is more work but how about subdivisions within the vendor forums. Each sponsor/vendor in "good standing" gets their own subforum. That way bumping does nothing, whoring does nothing, no arguments about who does or did what to each other. Most vendors already have their GBs listed in their signatures to begin with. So if you have each vendor have their own vendor subforum it's totally up to them to promote their products and everyone is on equal ground.
If this sounds confusing, I'll give an example.

Personally, I like it sorted by date. It is easier to see if a vendor is offering something new.

if you kept track of the Sponsors, they are re-posting their old groupbuys to be in the first page.

I think they put the GB forum back to the way it use to be where you can't bump up threads, but instead they stay locked into a position based upon the date it was posted, which I think is retarded.
I'm with S2X on this one, I think that the GB forum works better when it is sorted by the last post, not the original date. I know that with that setup sometimes you will have a vendor trying to bump there own threads, but for the most part this isn't a huge problem because if they have a good product available at a good price than they will have posts in there thread with no need for whoring up the GB section. Cthree, you have also made a good point where most of the GB threads (idon'twait and bulletproof are exceptions to this) are basically just sales where every sponsor tries to undercut the other with no real group buys at all, but instead they are just sales. Dan also has a good idea with the subforums, which I think can work out nicely, but for the time being I think that sorting the threads by the last post works best IMO.
This is retarded...some of the other vendors are creating whole new threads of the same products.
I really like turbo_pwr's idea of having a different section for each vendor. It keeps everything fair and the vendors dont have to compete against each other.
Though it would probably make a few of them list every single thing they sell go up on there like some of them already are, but maybe they'll be a bit more sensable about it.
