I see a few people lately posting threads just to see how to do pics, testing an avatar, a sig, etc. I've seen these on other forums and think it's a good idea. If you don't want to take up any space, you can always have a standing instruction to the effect that once testing is finished, the thread can be deleted by the author.

 

If people would only figure out that changing their signatures or avatars effect previous posts we wouldn't need to see test posts. Just change it, go back to a previous post, then decide to keep or change again. It's so simple.

 

Unfortunately, they don't figure it out. Besides, this is only one thing that they do test posts for. And they only clutter up the other forums. Or we could just go into those posts and tell the person to delete it when they're done?

 

Just start a thread in site forum that says do all your testing here.

 

I suppose it's worth a try but if it's not used for a period of time, it'll drop too low for people to find.
