Default How to determine the postid of a specific message?

Supposed I want to set a link to a specific message in a thread, how do I determine what the postid for that message is? The threadid is displayed at the top, but I don't know how to determine the postid of the messages. Thanks.

But the system knows the postid's. If you click on the "next unread message" button or the "last message in thread" button, the system will put in the postid for you. So it knows about postid's. I just need to know how to determine the postid then I can link to the specific message that I am referring to. For example, this post is #1514738. So if I have a link to:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...738#post1514738

It should take you to exactly this message.

Hold your mouse over the quote button of the thread. On the status bar of your browser you will see at the very end &postid=123456. That's the post ID.

Enter your link as:

/forums/showthread.php?postid=123456#post123456

That will show the thread containing the post and queue the browser to that specific post.

Note to self (for future references): With the V4 software, to link to a specific post in a thread, do the following:

"https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=<topic#>&view=findpost&p=<post #>"

For example, to link to this specific post, the link would be:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...dpost&p=4388354 (How's that for circular linking.)

<post#> set to 0 will link to the last post ???

Easier note to self. With V4 Click the Posted: link a the top of a post next to the post date to get the full URL of that specific post. You must click it. It opens a window with the URL in it for you to copy.

Wow, thanks. There are lots of little things with V4 that are yet to be discovered.
