how do you hyperlink to a particular post within a thread? I'm sure it has something to do with the "&postid" portion in the URL, but for some reason it doesn't work for me.

for example, I'm trying to hyperlink to my posting in this thread and I even included the "postid" portion (taken from when I quoted myself just to get the postid from the URL) however, it doesn't scroll down to my particular posting.

I see some people posting hyperlinks to particular posts and it's really convenient, rather than saying, "scroll down to what I said."

Perhaps they are linking using links from search results?

its the #post1234 (called an anchor) that moves the browser down to the post. hover over the edit post button to get the post id you want to link to and then change the &postid= and the #post in the url.

there is no = in the anchor. I tried to show that in my post above.
