Whats up guys.....

Ive been here for not such a long time, however, spent a lot of time on s2ki. I have personally helped many members, as well as recieved great help/advice from others. This is truly the best auto community Ive ever been a part of. So in honor of thanksgiving, I wanted to think of a way to make s2ki a bigger and better place. So I came up with an Idea, now bear in mind that it may take some tinkering and planning, but overall it may work.

I am not sure how many members/guests are on s2ki (active members) Ill assume a few hundred.....
s2ki will have a dedicated paypal account. Every month, eraffle tickets will be bought for $1.50 per ticket. Of that $1.50, $1.00 goes to the "pool" and the other .50 goes to support s2ki. The first 2.5 weeks of the month the tickets are bought. After 2.5 weeks, a pool of money will accumulate in the paypal account.

Here is what we can do....either give the pool to the winner or the raffle, or the following....

Win a supercharger.......

give the money to a site sponsor who will in return send the winner merchandise for equal money.....etc...

So basically you guys get the idea. If anyone has anything else they wish to add/remove, please chime in......

I really appreciate the wealth of knowledge of this great community, and would like to do everything possible to support it.

Thanks for reading....._-Dave

Personally, I'd love a 'superchanger'. I'm so tired of dressing myself

But seriously, good idea if you can sell enough tickets. Not sure on the laws regarding raffles and such. Might be an idea to look into that also.

What do you mean gold member.....there is another type of membership???

Ok, maybee not a raffle, more of a "donation" to us poor folk who cant afford a supercharger...

You can even do $2.00 a ticket.....

$1.00 towards the pool,
.50 for s2ki
.50 for a chosen charity......every month a different one.....possibilities are endless....plus a tax writeoff for everyone.....

50/50 should be legal.. at least they are at the office!!

btw, Dave, there is the $1000 per year membership option just for you

All kidding aside, a Gold membershit is $50/year if you didn't know.

membershit ? Freudian slip

Actually the selling of odds is illegal. That is, to sell odds to win cash/prizes requires a permit which are usually only available to registered charities.

You can do giveaways and you can offer odds for no fee (no purchase necessary) but you can't sell um (unless you're the government).

I have given a fair amount of thought to doing drawings for members for merchandise in exchange for promotional consideration but haven't yet put anything together.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's an excellent idea and it's something we tried once or twice with pretty good success. I'm just saying that we can't sell tickets to enter the draw is all.
