I think they disappeared when I reverted to "Guest" status temporarily until Shelley renewed my membership (which still shows as expired, since I didn't do the renewal). I'm showing 32% full when in fact it was about 61%. I hope I can get them back, since there are some early ones I want to keep! Thanks.

 

A similar thing has happened to me. I was pretty sure that they were there after I had renewed my membership. I am now missing quite a few pms which are my only documentation of purchases made from other forum members for stuff like wheels, exhaust, etc.

 

There is nothing that removes PMs that I know of. I might be wrong but I've never seen it.

 

Eric, clicking on Last in my pms takes me to Jul 12 2003, 05:43 PM - I would have expected pms from after April 2002.

 

^ Yes, mine only go back to 2003, also. I had them back to at least early 2002. Almost twice as many as are there now. Could you check with Rylan on this? Could be a database issue? Thanks.

^ Nope...I only have the two folders - earliest in Inbox is Aug 12, 2003. Earliest in Sent is Aug 31, 2003. I'm not sure when exactly the others went away. But it was pretty recent. And alot of them, too. As I said, my total was over 60%.

 

I'm pretty sure the old PM were pruned pre v4 software change so Jul 03 sounds about right. It wasn't done recently. Are you sure those PM were actually there in the last year? We haven't pruned them for about a year. That's why we impose a limit on guests, so we don't have to. I'm not aware of anything which deletes PMs automatically in the software.

 

Yes, they were there recently, because I had been going through them and getting rid of the ones I didn't want. Since that percentage jumps out at me when I go into PMs, I notice it almost every time I'm in there. Oh well...I thought maybe you archived them for some reason.

 

Nope, didn't do that either. I'll try to find some time to have a look at it this week for you but I've got a full plate until after March 6th. My most urgent issue is finding $5000 I don't seem to have to pay for the track on 3/6 and another $3000 to feed 300 people on Saturday I assure you that once I figure out how to solve those issues I'll get right on it
