TIP: To get things done quick you need to:
a) be very specific and to the point. I'm a bit dense and not good at picking out information from a 3 page thread given the amount of info I need to filter each day. Just say specifically what you want and give me all the info I need. If you want me to look at something give me as direct a link as you can. The harder it is to figure out what you want, the less likely it is it will get done. Info like "the so and so thread" is almost a total assurance I'll never get to it. This thread: http://... is much more likely . Path of least resistance Easy things get done first.
b) bug me about it until I do it. I miss things the first time through. I'll read a PM, decide to do something about it later then never get back to it. Just keep poking me and I'll get on it. I'm a software engineer by trade so task and time management was never a strong suit with me. I've got PMs from 2 years ago I've never responded to (sorry if yours is one of them).
If I don't do it right away then I'll probably forget about your PM/email/whatever by the time I get 20 messages on (about an hour). In one ear, out the other. If you think it's important or you need something just make it as simple a request as possible and bug me till it gets done.
Cheers.
