So most of the new pictures being posted after a certain time is showing as links and not embedded. Is there a setting or is that just how it is now.

All images are showing up as links. Older content from years ago still has images embedded but all the newer posts within the last few years just has links like below.

 

The last site overhaul a few years ago may have caused that. Otherwise it is how the user posted them.

i have a similar problem, but I think it may be on my end. I got a new work laptop and now 90% of pictures just say "posted image". Any ideas what I can do to correct this?

for example, post #3 a few rows up in this thread says "posted image" rather than the image. But the image in post #4 shows up fine. I'll take a screen shot and see if I can post it. Thanks

 

that is becuase they left off the .jpg in the url of the image - so you get a link vs. an imbedded image w/image tags

In fact I can't see the image I linked for you when I preview my own post. I see "posted image" and I included the [img] [/img] tags to link to Flickr.
