It is how the image is linked from Flickr. You have to share the image using the BB code they provide - then copy & paste directly.

The image is being posted incorrectly. It isn't a firewall issue i.m.o.

I have a feeling the directory that the img is being pulled from is being blocked by your firewall. (A lot of img's get pulled from imgur, tumblr, flickr, deviantart, etc., and a lot of corporate firewalls might have those places blocked due to them being cyberloafing havens).

Have you tried viewing the same image/post, behind a private/secure connection, to see if it still occurs (on the same laptop)?

Again, it has nothing to do with a firewall. The image is from Flickr. It is how the image is posted. You must select the parameters from Flickr that they provide & copy / paste directly. You don't use img tags. It will never show up doing that.
