PM text filtering
Over the weekend a few people found out that PMs with "S2KCA" (and various derivatives) in the body of the PM do not get delivered. In this case, it caused a few issues in coordinating events on adjacent weekends, and some hard feelings because the PM senders didn't know their PMs were being blocked (they perceived it as being ignored). Now, I really don't want to dredge up the history of why this exists (again), but it seems that its long overdue for things that happened 6 years ago to stop affecting new members of both communities (which have a lot of overlap, contrary to popular belief) who don't know the history, don't care about the history, and just want to share their passion with fellow owners.
Since the filtering has been around since 2002 (if memory serves), it's quite possible it's a forgotten "feature". In either case, is there any chance of it being removed?

Maybe because it would be a nice gesture or the right thing to do?
Nice for whom? Right for whom? Is s2ki going to somehow benefit from me spending my time on this? It's a fair question.
that explains a few things
Well it at least explains this PM that was sent by me, a Gold member of this site, to Raul (airgate) in an effort to avoid a scheduling conflict.
Blocking this message without my knowledge has caused quite a bit of hard feelings for many members of both sites.

Raul,
My name is Steve XXXXXX and I am the chapter director for the Central Indiana chapter of the S2KCA.
I posted a couple of weeks ago a thread inquiring if dates had been set for DBR 2007 and it was promptly locked.
I was asking because our S2KCA chapter is hosting the clubs national event September 28, 29 & 30 2007 at Belterra Resort in Southern Indiana (near Cincinnati).
I wanted to make you aware of this because I don't want to have a date conflict with DBR 2007 with our event. There are many people, myself included, that will want to attend both events.
Thanks and PM me at your convenience with any questions or concerns.
Steve.

I'm sorry it has been a problem for you and it's unfortunate that the system was abused and rendered useless for legitimate communication. I encourage you to contact the leadership of your club and insist that they seek a mutually beneficial relationship if that is in fact desired. I have not received any such communication and have to assume that efforts to redirect s2ki members to another site are not in s2ki's best interests.
There are a number of clubs which operate their own sites which we work very amicably with. They have all expressed their desire to co-operate rather than compete with the s2ki community and they don't have any such problems.

"Nice for whom? Right for whom?" I'd say anyone who isn't, say, you.
"Is s2ki going to somehow benefit from me spending my time on this?" Probably not but how long would it take? It would seem to me it would have to be a very specific bit of code that wouldn't be that hard to find.
Edit - I was unaware of any spamming so if that's the case I understand your reluctance. Those of us who enjoy both sites would just like to see all this put to rest.

S2KI (i.e. you) may not benefit directly, but many of your users might. That seems to me to make it "right". Time wise, it shouldn't be hard to find the coding for a text filter that apparently only blocks one word.
Of course - it's your business.
