There was a time, eons ago, when users could delete their own threads. Unfortunately, some users would get pissed off at either another user or the board itself and delete a thread. This has the effect of deleting not only their posts but all replies too. Some threads become very valuable sources of information and the fact that someone started a thread doesn't mean they should be able to delete it on a whim. After losing a number of long, informative threads for no good reason the ability for users to delete a whole thread was removed.

 

If you want a thread removing, just let a mod know
