I take it when the new software is loaded we will retain our user names and passwords...Just curious.

Yes, everything will stay intact. That includes all posts, threads, archives, PMs, usernames, signatures, everything. We have been working on this for a couple of months to make sure it will go smoothly. Aside from the time during the switchover, you should notice little change.

We're even going to kick in a couple new features: Polls and live chat. Krazik has spent a considerable amount of time putting together a chat system you guys and gals are going to love. No Java, no special software, just pure HTML and javascript. That means you can even use it from work and across firewalls. I've implemented a polling system that lets you create a poll thread that people can vote on. It tallies the votes and shows you a graphic result. It's just like a regular thread except for the poll at the top.

We've got a host of things planned but the key is the new software. Look for this coming next Saturday!

I should point out that should all hell break loose and things not go well, the existing system will be put back online so there will be no loss of anything. But hey, what could go wrong?
