well it is simple. open the album. click on the thumbnail to see a full sized image. right click. then save as picture in chosen folder. the image downloads in full size from the s2ki site.

Just so everyone knows what I think is wrong about this. I'm not a member any longer, and I think to lose use of the photo album is entirely reasonable. At present the situation for me as a non-member is that I can no longer post additional images, but I still have the ability to delete them if I wish. They are after all MY images. Come the first of November, albums will be locked to non-members totally, so they will lose all access forever TO THEIR OWN IMAGES. As now, the images will still appear in threads they are linked to. Bandwidth is being used as the reason for this action, but I fail to see one jot of difference being made to bandwidth as the images will still be available in threads.
The obvious answer is to just delete them, but then the people who will really suffer the inconvenience and loss of pics, particularly in 'How To' and Help threads are the people here, and those yet to join. I can't see one valid reason why the situation shouldn't remain just as it is for non-members with albums locked to further images but still having the ability to delete your own pics should you wish to do so. I find the proposed action high handed and autocratic, and I sincerely hope the problem is that it just hasn't been thought through too well, and let's face it, it wouldn't be first time! I shall leave it a couple of weeks to see if there's any change of heart on this from the owners, and if not, I shall be definitely deleting at least some images.
Roger's right I see a huge shift in attitudes here with constant subtle and not so subtle pressure from well- meaning hand-picked company men constantly extolling the virtues of paid membership, while slowly eroding all privileges which non-members once had. I might just remind everyone that photo albums were originally given to anyone who entered their VIN No in their profile. You cannot retract your Vin No once given. That info is the property of S2ki forever. I have no intention of of handing over effective ownership of my own pics.
I was one of the loudest supporters of extra privileges for paid members and one of the first to pay up and in excess of what was required for Gold Membership at that. I see no reason why the ownership of this board shouldn't personally prosper from this venture, and they're clearly moving in the direction of increased commercialism. They should be honest enough to say so, and at least everyone would know where they stand, although at the moment you really don't have to be Einstein to work it out for yourself!

If the former, the only person I was "hand-picked" by was AE himself, and only then because he needed a hand keeping running smoothly on here after Pete left, leavng him as the only active CO. I have no agenda at all here. I just happen to think that if you're going to use the site and make use of the resources and information it contains, it's not unreasonable to expect you to pay the (in the scheme of things, pretty modest) membership charge.
I'm no cheerleader for cthree et al, but I can see that the board must cost money to run, not least for the hardware required to keep it up, and that it's hardly reasonable to expect that to be funded by him and krazik.
I can understand the frustration about the photos issue. I'm not sure there's much point me commenting further on that since you've already argued your point pretty clearly and, FWIW, I don't fundamentially disagree with you.
