I'm finding it somewhat cryptic to renew my paid membership before it expires. Is it not possible to do so or am I just not seeing the forest for the trees?

 

Unfortunately it is not possible to renew prior to expiration at the moment. I have an update I'm waiting on PayPal to test which is a complete rewrite of the membership system which does allow renewal at any time and which sends notification of expiration both before it happens and when it happens. It's a long overdue overhaul which addresses 99% of the complaints and problems with membership but until I'm able to test it I can't implement it.

PayPal assures me (and others) than they are working to resolve the problem in their developer "sandbox" so I hope that I will be able to get this update out soon. Perhaps not soon enough for you but I hope so. It have been done for over 2 weeks.
