I have just noticed as to why I cant find any recent posts when I search. I hope I am not the only one... I guess the default search only does the year 2001. I have to do an advanced search and adjust time frames.

Can this be fixed?

It works fine for me , no adjusting anything. I use the search pretty frequently too.

depending on what i search, the same thing happens. some times if i search relevant stuff there is like a divide in what comes up, some of the stuff will be current then the bottom half will be 2001 stuff.

 

Yeah the search is really horrid. Some search terms will come up with recent threads. Many terms will only show 2001 posts definitely something wrong with the search setup I guess. Also search won't allow you to use less than 3 letter words when searching? What a pain in the ass that is!

 

Can you guys please provide some example searches that give weird results. I don't think sharing the search links works, but just let me know what terms you searched for, etc and let me see if I can replicate the oddness as a start.

i just searched the word "oil" and it brought up 1k threads.... the latest thread it brought up was september 8th 2001.... pretty sure people have talked about oil since then
