Is there a way to subscribe to threads, but not have email sent with new posts?

Default Is there a way to subscribe to threads, but not have email sent with new posts?

I'd like to subscribe to the threads I post on, but I don't want all of the S2KI emails telling me some one has posted to them. This way I can just use MYS2000 to re-check the threads I'm interested in.

There is no stock way to do that. I'd need to hack something.

A suggestion [until the hack] might be to simply block the s2ki.com e-mail address that sends such alerts to your ISP/personal e-mail account. I'm currently doing that myself. Since s2ki.com isn't badgering me with spam anyway, I'm not missing anything by blocking the address from my e-mail account. Just a suggestion...

This is definitely something I'm looking for.... When I turned off emails a while back, I started not auto-subscribing to threads every time I replied to them, and I totally thought s2ki was falling apart on me. Then I realized that the whole auto-subscribe/subscription in MyS2000/email notifications all go hand-in-hand.

I regularly have to delete 600 email messages from s2ki.com just because I subscribe to a lot of threads.

I wonder if AOL can block specific emails? Good suggestion wingman.

I knew searching would be valuable before posting a new thread about exactly this topic! Blocking the info@s2ki.com address is doable, but seems like sort of a heavy-handed approach (I could see some kind of really useful/important email coming from that address someday... but maybe not?).

Was any further progress ever made on this? I could see either a) adding a switch to notify or not for subscriptions, or b) sending the notification emails from "thread@s2ki.com" or something so that we could block the emails with no worries of losing something important. (a) of course would be a lot more efficient, but (b) is probably easier... and maybe I should just not worry about it and block info@s2ki.com....

Thanks. (sorry for defibrillating this old thread )
