No need for apologies, it's just that I don't think this post will get as much responce in the special intrestsite info forum.

I can argue that there is justification that this post stay in the "under the hood" section. As it is an effort to improve the ability of the board memebers to make informed descisions when purchacing performance parts. Just as the dyno sheets themselves do this, a discussion on gathering said dyno sheets serves the same underlying purpose.

I do understand though that this does also fall under the site improvement classification.

I only assume that the people capable of justifying these efforts (of constructing the database) would be browsing / contributing to the under the hood section more frequently.

I understand either way though.

Thanks for the great board,
-Ed

the seperate forum/thread would be cool. As far as using one specific dyno graph from one car as a baseline for everyone won't work. There are alot of variations between motors, specific dyno conditions, and even the dynos themselves. Also most of you know that most of our motors tend to gain hp as they break in. I know that mine only dynod w/ 177 hp stock.
check out the link.crappy base dyno
scroll down on the right and you'll find mine.

Agreed, not only do different cars dyno different numbers; factors like altitude, temprature, and the type of dyno used all make a large difference.

What is important is the delta, the change from your cars baseline when the intake was added. One could say that that intake may gain 10hp on my car.

I just don't think we can trust the companies that build the parts, it's like K&N saying you gain *up to 20hp! with a new air filter.
