Where did the F20C on the intro page go? and what are those product ads doing there? Then there are several of the same threads trying to sell the new kit. I thought the idea of posting the same things over and over again was frowned upon?

It really makes me wonder how "money is not the cause of the recent changes."

The front page was changed for the short term to remove copyrighted honda materials and to put up the skyscraper banner that had been promised for a couple months. There is a new front page coming very shortly that is part of the new library that c3 has been working on. But the change was made this week to get rid of the outdated site name (S2000 International) and copyrighted material until the new front page is ready.

The Advert is just that. An industry standard size "skyscraper banner" that is part of Go Fast Lab's sponsorship.

What's going on? Well quite a bit actually:

1) We are replacing the software which is used for the library. I've been working on it for a couple of months now and it will be running within the next day or two. That means a new front page, a slightly new formal and a new organization.

2) The clubs section which is now a list of regional forums will be replaced as part of the new library. There will be a club directory as well as a start page for each club (a mini site if you will) including links to the club forum. This will take a bit longer to get done, we need to do #1 first.

3) The frontpage will be replaced by the "home" section which is S2KI information including policies, contact info, event calendar and so forth. The login will be removed from the front page and will be moved to the forums and gallery.

4) The forums software will be upgraded (as soon as it is released, it's in beta).

5) The search function will be replaced with the normal forums search function with the new forums update. Search will be context sensitive -- if you search in the forums, you search the forums. If you search in the library you'll search the library. The global search as it is will be replaced.

6) A new database server is being acquired and installed next week. This will make response times dramatically quicker. A new file server for the photo galleries and other common files will be installed at the same time. Currently both of these functions are performed by the same server.

7) The gold member email will get an upgrade and new design. It will be integrated into the main site as opposed to the standalone structure it is now.

8) Chat will be updated, enhanced and restructed

9) A couple of people have offered to help populate the library with information collected in the forums. Assuming their offers are still good you should see the library fill up with some juicy information.

That's a snapshot of the most immediate and large scale changes to the site which we are working on.
