Not to criticize the people who manage the search function, as I myself have no idea how these things are programmed or actually work, but the search functions on other forums are superior (MR2OC, NASIOC, IWSTI, even ClubLexus). Maybe it is that this site is so much bigger than the others, but there are fewer options in terms of how you search and it doesn't seem to filter results as well.
Read my above reply and look at the Use the Search FAQ linked above. We use a simple query language to help you find the best results. The options are very powerful and very simple to use once you know they are there.

I guess I am not used to the way this site searches, even after nearly 2 years. I have always though the way Hondahookup and Clublexus search function was much better since it does not return 3 pages of the same thread.

It also allows an cleaner way to search by poster, and section, etc.

Yes, funny how we'd like threads that have nothing to do with S2000s and everything to do with how the site runs in the forum dedicated to such issues.
Since it appears that few people actually come into this section it made sense to get it out in front of the members and guests of this site. That may not be how you wanted it and the reason it was moved.

And I do still feel that the search is lacking. I think others on this board will agree. I see the following phrase far too often, "I tried to search but....." That should tell you something is wrong. If you see that phrase 3+ times a week something needs to be done. That is my 2 cents and as a user of the board I get to voice my opinion.

The board is organized in a certain fashion. You may not agree with it but threads related to how the site functions belong in this section regardless of your feelings to the contrary.

You've received 25 replies and 242 views to your post. You've had replies from the site owner, site admins and moderators as well as other day to day participants. Your points have been duly noted by all comers so I'd say it's gotten its due.

Also in this section of the board are the specific instructions on how to make the search do your bidding.

Nearly half of those were in the first 10 hours when it was in the S2000 talk forum - which proves my point. But since my voice has been heard along with the other people who have commented we shall see if anything is done to make improvements and make the search more user friendly. - That may be what I am not used to.

BTW - love your quote.
