Default A Few Mechanical Concerns

Good afternoon, y'all. I want to start out by saying that I have an 05 S2000 with about 63k miles on the clock. I also had a Kraftwerks supercharger installed <1,000 miles ago. Recently I've noticed a few things that have me worried:

-Oil pressure light comes on for about half a second every time I start the car. Warm, cold, every time. I check my oil every Monday and I'm good there.
-While idling, my car will "shudder" and dip to about 600 rpms every 45 - 60 seconds. Then it will recover and rev to about 1,200 rpms before dipping to my normal idle of 1k rpms
- While pushing my (warmed up, I promise) car to redline, it seems to jolt or sometimes cut off throttle at about 7500 rpms.

I just had my 60,000 mile service and all my fluids flushed and re-filled. Also, I had my V-Tech solenoid gasket replaced about two weeks ago due to a minor leak. I've noticed that a MAP-whack may be recommended, but I'm running a 4-Bar MAP sensor with my supercharger tune. I'm under the impression that the OEM MAP sensor is the only one with issues. If y'all need any more information to help me figure these things out, I'll be happy to provide it as best I can.

Thank you!

The oil light on intitial start, that sounds like oil filter bypass valve is stuck open, so oil all drains out of the passages back to pan after shutdown. Then next time you start, oil pump first has to push oil to fill up the passages before it builds pressure, and that takes a good half second or so.

If this is the issue, its a bad (or clogged) filter. But question, if you have some sort of oil system mod, like an aux oil cooler that hooks up at filter location, something weird with that could be what is allowing drainback, not the filter.

Car Analogy, I'll check up on that and see what I can find. Thanks for the input!

I have no input on your question.

Just FWIW. Checking your oil regularly is great but my 2 cents worth is if you daily drive it checking your oil every week is a bit long of an interval.

My KW supercharger lasted 125,000 miles before it died (blower, not my engine). I had a great time with it!

Enjoy!

The oil pressure light comes on every time you start the car, the 1/2 second time frame doesn't sound like an issue. May be affected by the oil filter brand/type, or have you modified the oil lines with an external oil cooler ? Either way it doesn't sound bad to me.

Still trying to diagnose the rev issue. Below is a video someone else posted that matches exactly what my car is doing. Same noises and everything. Unfortunately, they didn't post a resolution or anything helpful. Any ideas?

Premature fuel cutoff while the car's warm could be an ECU problem. It could be a solenoid problem. It could be an O2 sensor problem. There are a few threads here with some suggestions. https://www.google.com/search?q=site...f%20warm&cad=h
