Default car dives to low rpms

after a good bit of driving, my car's rpms dives to nearly 100 rpms, then pauses and it jumps back up to normal. This happens ever so often, but im scared that the s2k is going out. Any one have any info before I take it to the dealer?
I warm the car up to 3 bars before driving, and 5 mins after driving I would hit VTEC,
should I change the oil to see if it helps? Oil was changed 2k miles ago.

map sensor, its pretty normal on almost all s2ks. if the car actually stalls, then you got a more serious problem.

Does your car start to rattle when it goes that low? It happens to me when im in reverse and i have to wait for someone and the foots on the clutch and th cars in gear. Same thing in first. Very seldom tho.

k simple test
put it in neutral and rev
when the rev metre dropped to under 500, your car rattles a bit

its normal, unless it stalls...then you need to check your map sensor

I would think this is a warranty item but you have to show the service guy that it actually does this in his presence. Ultimate Lurker showed that this MAP sensor can be a real piece of junk.

Mine does this too, as in the RPMs drop to the point the car shudders -- then recovers quickly. It especially likes to do this with the added load of the AC.

Every Honda I've owned does this... it sucks. My '00 Civic was the worst... it liked to completely stall-out occassionally.
