So, rather than clutter up the Vintage Photos topic with these cell phone quality pics (taken with an older Galaxy S7 no less), I thought I would stick these pics in their own topic. And rather than posting a bunch of pics of beautifully done hot rods and muscle cars like I've done in years past, this year I focused more on the weird and wacky. Alas, my volunteer work kept me pretty busy so I missed getting pics of some of the other weirdness.
Sunday big event is in downtown Gulfport. Here is a nice 55 Caddie to kick things off.
"Um, I thought this was a Cars and Coffee?"
One for Dave. Not as pretty as his, but...
Bugeye Sprite. So cute. Yet so capable in tight quarters like a technical Auto-X course.
Real Race Car...at least around here. No 20 Home Depot car was driven by Tony Stewart. However, this is probably a tribute example. Full tube frame, though, so maybe a Home Depot promotion?
Tubbed Vega. Note the width of the tubs. But I think this one is all show. Didn't look like it had ever been driven a quarter of a mile.
Name this car. No fair zooming in on the hub caps.
Monday morning view from the back of the Cruise Central Registration tent.
No rain here for over a month. Then on Monday afternoon the skies opened up, three times. But the front did bring welcome cooler weather and the rest of the week from Monday evening on was beautiful.
2019 Feature Car. Shown at all the venues and featured on the CTC program cover.
Yes, it's a boat on a car chassis. Yes, it's a street legal motor vehicle. Yes, it was driven to CTC from somewhere in Louisiana.
No CTC would be complete without a short VW Bus.
Speaking of short, this Chevy went from family sedan to mud buggy conversion to broken in two due to a big block engine, to this.
This was the final total as of Friday evening. A few more registered on Saturday, so the final count is just a bit higher.
