I thought some of you folks might be interested in seeing these. Here's some pics that were sent to me by a former student who is now working for NOAA . These are some deep sea critters that were washed up after the tsunami.

Amazing pictures! Thank you for sharing! The deep sea and what lurks down there is truly fascinating! I have seen a few of those critters on some sea posters we sell

Vengeance shall be mine. I got her the job at NOAA, and I can take it away just as quickly.
Oh well, the pics are interesting just the same.

the pics are VERY Interesting! And real! Some scary stuff down there!

NOAA would be a dream job for me (not qualified in the least bit!) can I take her place? I am infatuated with weather to the point that I jsut bought a wireless weather station for the house

I thought the title of this post meant you, Dean. I figured you'd bought your boat and been out to sea.

Those are some really ugly critters...I think I'll stick with snorkeling just offshore. Manatees and pretty colored tropical fish are more my speed

That stuff is not scary, wierd, but not scary.

You can find the very strange in even 100 ft of water.

But I do love the pics. One day I will go down in a deep sea submersible and look at that angler fish in person. I've looked at this one and it's on my hit list if I get back to dive the Caymans again.

1000 ft.
