Accounting question
One of the things that I wanted to do starting this year is keep better track of my expenses. I downloaded a program called Gnucash (I use Suse Linux as my primary OS) and now I have a couple questions about how I should be keeping track.
1. Sometimes I purchase equipment for my employer using my personal CC (1% cash back
). Obviously I need to record them somehow since I'm using my CC. What is the proper way of dealing with this?
2. I decided to track only my net income with the software, since I can always look at my paystubs to see how much I've been paying in taxes. Basically it's just to keep things a bit simpler. Is that acceptable?

Either set up a separate category for reimbursed expenses or just exclude the crap you buy you get reimbursed for.
I charged tens of thousands of dollars of travel expenses with my old job on my personal CC and I just exluded those reimbursed expenes from my personal budged. It was irrelevant since I got reimbursed.

you nerds have "personal budgets"?
I don't want any "evidence" of what the hell I spend my $ on.

dollar bills in the stripper's underwear = entertainment
Just generalize it, then you won't have that problem.
