Default Accounting question

One of the things that I wanted to do starting this year is keep better track of my expenses. I downloaded a program called Gnucash (I use Suse Linux as my primary OS) and now I have a couple questions about how I should be keeping track.

1. Sometimes I purchase equipment for my employer using my personal CC (1% cash back ). Obviously I need to record them somehow since I'm using my CC. What is the proper way of dealing with this?

2. I decided to track only my net income with the software, since I can always look at my paystubs to see how much I've been paying in taxes. Basically it's just to keep things a bit simpler. Is that acceptable?

There were 41 views and no replies. Is it because it's not clear what I'm asking or because nobody knows the answer?

Don't mean to sound harsh, but I don't think anybody cares. Just do what you want. It's for your own personal use, so there's no real right or wrong way to keep track of these things.

Either set up a separate category for reimbursed expenses or just exclude the crap you buy you get reimbursed for.

I charged tens of thousands of dollars of travel expenses with my old job on my personal CC and I just exluded those reimbursed expenes from my personal budged. It was irrelevant since I got reimbursed.

pr0n = entertainment

dollar bills in the stripper's underwear = entertainment

Just generalize it, then you won't have that problem.
