Default What is a CR Rear Sway Bar?

I'm thinking of putting an AP1 rear sway bar on my AP2 to give me more confidence in the rear end when pushing on, just now it feels too soft and wallows on tight corners! I'm hoping the thicker sway bar, but the soft spring rate of the AP2 will be a great compromise between the two cars.

Anyway, I've been doing a lot of searching to ensure this is a good idea. I've come across a lot of people mentioning a CR sway bar. What is this? Is it of a different car, is it a brand? Must be an American product as i've never heard of it in the UK.

Thanks in advance.

The rear CR sway bar is on the 2008-09 S2000 CR club racer model. I don't know if they were shipped into the UK. It is stiffer than the all other AP2 models rear sway bars. 04 -09 base model rear sway bars are 311 lbs and the 08-09 CR rear sway bar is 362 lbs

Thanks for the info.

We never got thoese in the UK which is a shame, sounds interesting.

Do you know what the AP1 sway bars are? Somewhere between 311lbs & 362lbs?

Very imformative thanks.

I'm wondering if a 2000/2001 rear sway bar may be too stiff and if I should find a 2002 or 2003 for my standard 2005 car. Thoughts?

all 00-01 were 427 lb/in and 02-03 396 AP2 were all 311 and the cr was 362

I have a my00 and run swift springs on stock shocks. The spring rates are close to AP2 but I think there is too much rear bar. I was considering either an AP2 or CR bar.

If you go stiffer you will be able to toss the car around more but you also increase oversteer which can get you into trouble

Sounds like I want either a 02/03 or CR.

Do you know the part number for the CR bar? As above, it's not available from Honda in the UK but can look to import it with the part number. Or perhaps look at an aftermarket with around the same rating as the CR bar.

52300-S2A-S01
http://www.cflhonda.com ship to the UK. It's $88 or about £50 plus delivery, duty and VAT.

I still think you should try the car with some less wobbly tyres and get a proper alignment though

I have an MY00 ~ year with the stiffest sway bars. Currently running Eibach FSB & CR RSB. The RSB has slightly less stiffness compared to the MY00 RSB. I find the balance to be pretty good with my particular setup.

If you're experiencing wallowing, have you checked the condition of your shock absorbers? People typically install softer rear sway bars to reduce oversteer.
