Default Has Anyone Used Spoon (Showa) Shocks ?

I've steered clear of coilovers for my car as I don't need a lower ride height and I don't want to get into corner weighting if I don't have to. The stock height is low enough for my fat ass and I am running spacers on the front wheels to clear my Spoon brakes and I don't want to roll fenders. I'm somewhat interested in the Spoon shocks as a potential performance upgrade over my 06 ap2 suspension, I could use them with stock springs, and they are within my capabilities in terms of installation. Too bad they aren't adjustable but I can live with that. I kind of prefer the Spoon's over Koni's as they have the reservoirs in the rear, and I don't have to worry about ride height.

My car is strictly street driven, I don't want coilovers and I am good with the stock ride height. Cost isn't a concern even though the price of these shocks are about as much as a lower priced set of coilovers. I realize that these are made by the same company that makes the oem shocks, but I'm thinking they are an upgrade over oem shocks in terms of valving. I'm interested in anyone's opinion on the Spoon shocks ,thanks for any replies.

Thanks for the added info, I priced out the CR shocks and they aren't too much cheaper than the Spoons, they are a bit cheaper but not a big amount.

you know what, after doing more research they sound more performance oriented than the cr shock and are height adjustable with 5 settings. I wasnt too sure if you were looking at the adjustable spoon showa coilover or the spoon showa OEM replacements (which I believe are revalved oem units) that come in yellow which jbkonis has.

It doesn't really make sense to upgrade the dampers unless you will be using different springs. The CR has stiffer springs all around, and stiffer springs in front, while the normal 06 AP2 suspension is softer with slightly stiffer springs in the rear. The CR also has stiffer sway bars all around with bias towards the front again. If you decide to use CR dampers, I would make sure you take all of that into consideration.

I would recommend contacting Spoon Europe for the best info. http://www.spoonsportseurope.net, or an-racing.com since you are in Canada.
