Dang Nguyen (Projekt)!!!...
I had nothing to do with SOW but I paid that guy good money 2 months ago for some tires and he's been dodging me ever since... I'm tired of all this waa waa crap, GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK, NOW!!!...
I can tell that some of you are in contact with him but you're just too spineless to say so but you tell him that I want to hear from him NOW!!!...
Personal things are personal but business is business, he got a good recommendation from one of the CO's here but I tend now to totally doubt that...

Rusler Firbrand
I'd like to report that Jeff, Rusler Firbrand, is a wonderful seller. He answered every single one of my 100 PM's about a product he was selling, and he returned every single one with detailed and helpful information. When I met up with him, the product was as he said it was. Not only that, but at that time when we first met up, he didn't have some of the hardware with him. So when he got the harware, he drove over an hour just to meet up with me just to get it to me as soon as possible. Buy with confidence from Jeff, he will do you no wrong! I still cannot believe he actually went out of his way to do this for me, much appreciated!

When I realized I was gonna get stuck with this tranny problem and was facing a MAJOR bill, I knew there was one person who could point me to the best deal - our very own esteemed BackCracker . BC hooked me up with Ben (supertech); the research I did showed Ben to has a great reputation here on s2ki and on other boards. BC, next time you are up in the South Bay I owe you a DINNER!
Ben offered me an excellent installed price for an '02 tranny with 30k on it, the same milage as my car; even better he could do the work in the same week! Ben made arrangements to flatbed my transmission-free car to his location for an additional charge, taking another worry off my shoulders. Since I needed a new clutch anyhow, and my go FI one day anyhow, Ben advised I go with HardTopGuy's clutch deal, which couples a Comptech lightened flywheel and Act pressure plate with OEM disk and throwout.
So 7:30am Saturday morning I met Ben's friend Teren at Gardena Honda, we loaded the car, the new parts, and a few boxes full of gears and bolts that used to be a transmission, up onto his enclosed trailer. Ben got started as planned on Sunday morning, and at 10:30 gave me the call reporting that he was about an hour away from finishing, so Gloria and I headed out to pick up the car. I also asked Ben to change the Diff fluid while it was on the lift (and of course I paid him for the additional work) so I wouldn't have to mess with when I got home.
Ben and Aldrich were just finishing up when we arrived. The first thing that struck me was that my new 'used' tranny was clean and bright. I expected a greasy, dusty, dirty tranny, so I was pleasantly suprised. Ben was totally professional, cut me a nice receipt, took my car out for a test drive. When he got back, he mentioned a sound I had been hearing since I took my bumper off a while back, and told me that it sounded like my sway bar was loose or I was having a ball joint problem - a good heads up I'll be getting on this weekend.
While it sucks to need to drop a few grand just to get my S running again, I am pleased with the outcome. The tranny feels solid. I like the engagement of the new clutch and flywheel, although they require a bit of a learning curve - I am relearning the timing of rev-matching because the flywheel lets RPMs drop faster, the clutch engages more firmly and a little bit lower, all good things I am getting used to. I have confidence in my car again, confidence I thought I had lost when I found out my Extended Warrantee wasn't worth squat.
I feel really comfortable with Ben's work. UNLIKE Ben, I've been to several local tuners and never really comfortable with them; it seemed that they may know a handful of tuner-type installations be it on a Ford or a Honda, but don't really have
big-picture view of the s2000 or the precision of a master-mechanic. For example, my Mugen intake installation from one of these shops was downright clownish - and I regret not doing it myself, it would have been faster, cleaner and correct - and I wouldn't have had to redo it in my garage afterwards.
Ben, on the other hand, definitely has the big picture on the s2000. He has obviously has done every major operation on the car so many times that it is routine, he knows the identifying symptoms of uncommon problems (like the sound from my sway bar link), making for faster and more accurate diagnoses. His work was clean and straight, his business conduct professional and efficient, his demeanor helpful and concerned. Pricing was good and results spectacular. He has demonstrated interest in maintaining a good reputation on the boards, which to me means he is interested in doing a good job. Plus as a fellow s2000 owner, he understands . If you need a major service in SoCal I don't think you can do better than Ben.
So thanks Mike, Teren, Ben, and Aldrich, for getting me back on the road!
-JD
