Why would you want LoJack? I have yet to hear of a single S2000 down here thats been stolen. Most of the problems involve theft of seats. If they are going to steal the car they will flatbed it.

The best alarm is buying a home with a garage and being careful where you park when you're out (parking garages, well lit areas, high traffic zones, etc). Alarms provide a false sense of security, and can be easily bypassed by any pro car thieve. If they want your car, they will take it.

That said, I have an AutoPage 750LCD installed in mine with the hyper-sensitive proximity sensor option able to detect a human sneeze miles away and alert me that someone was trying to sneeze on my S.

I reiterate....

The best alarm for the least money is the Alpine. Both rateds2k and myself have it and for the price you can't touch its features.

The only problem is finding a good installer.

Well I personally know one S owner who had his stolen by someone with a master key (or so he thinks)- the car was just driven off- no flatbed, no dammage to the column, nothing. luckilly he had LoJack, and got it back, and cought the guys who did it. Truthfully I really like the stock seats- but Its really not on my priority list. If it happens Ill get racing seats for a couple hundred bucks, end of story. I refuse to get seat locks because I'd rather have my seats gone, then my entire interior slahed up because some punk got pissed off not being abel to jack my seats. Thats how these kids are.

As for the High end LoJack- it is packaged alongside an alarm with proximity sensor, and it will call your cellphone anytime the car is moved- allowing you to active the Lojack system automatically.

There is no such thing as a 'master key'. The rolling code needs to match the code in the ECU. There is a work around the immobilizer, but its VERY expensive, and I'm not going into it here (and don't PM me asking about it).

Now someone at a dealership could have cloned his key when it was in for service. A thief, even a good one, isn't going to just grab one of these cars, unless they can somehow clone your key or flatbed it.

Since I've been on the board (about a year), I have not seen one thread where someone said that they had an attempted seat theft, but when the thugs saw the seat locks, they slashed the interior of the car.
