just my humble opinion of the very best looking wheels for the S2000

SSR GT3

You would have to get a used set, as they no longer make the rears in the proper offsets for the S2000

Mugen MF10:

Mugen GP:

Mugen M7:

BBS LM's (gorgeous!)

Volk TE37

Volk CE28N (Time Attack colors):

Work Meister S1 (also comes in 3-piece):

Unfortunately none of these wheels are within your $1,500 budget... not even close. With $1500 I would go with Enkei RPF1's or Work Emotion CR's

Enkei RPF1 (custom painted and polished. They only come in black or silver):

Work Emotion CR (my next S2000 may very well end up looking just like this )

S1's are at least $2100, unless you can find a used set.

those are to much compared to what hes looking for,my opinion get what ever wheel you think would look good on your car, a 1-piece wheel is what youll problly get for the money your willing to spend,or you can get nice used wheels for around that.
