I just got an '05 S and it's still in Alabama, don't plan on bringing it down 'til I at least hardtop that thing. Alarm will be installed as soon as I get it. It already pisses me off that every Civic in Dade has S2K seats in it and I don't even have the S2000 here yet...
I'm really worried 'cause I've had multiple motorcycles stolen from my house that's gated and in a good neighborhood with a cop across the street.
I do sleep with my guns next to my bed, but, I was so drunk every time my shit got stolen I didn't realize it 'til the morning on every occasion. BLAH!

Hardtop just makes them want to steal it even more. Alarm at least gives u a few mins warning that they are stealing it.
Thats what I said from the very beginning. If you can afford to buy a car like and S2000, then you should be able to afford a really good alarm system and seat locks ..... now its going to cost you more cause even if you have car insurance .... you get flagged for filing a claim ..... and your rates might go up ..... and if you pay out of pocket for the seats, it costs you more money .... then if you got an alarm and seat locks from the very beginning .....

Hardtop lock is gonna be the must have thing to buy this season.
<sigh> there is no way to defend an s2k besides a garage /thread
an alarm just lets you know its being stolen and a hardtop makes it more attractive.
i worry every day i park mine. thats why youur best defense besides a garage is great insurance.

Get a Clifford with real time GPS tracking system and a super stealth install. A good alarm is only as good as its installation. Can't do nothing about your car being stolen, but hopefully you'll know at least where it is just in time to find it still in one piece.

true but what happens when your not home and have the park in the street or parking lot your garage cant help you there

There was this show on tv called something like "america's best criminals" ..... there was these gang of car thieves out of New York that for over 10 years they stole like $8 million worth of stolen cars and they were high end cars with Lo - Jack and GPS tracking, alarms, etc .... they explained what the thieves did and how they stole the cars without getting caught ...... so one of them slipped up after ten years and they got busted ... apparently they would put the cars on cargo ships and they were shipped to Japan.
The show explained how they pulled everything off. Obviously 99.9999 % of thieves aren't that smart or are able to do the same thing as those guys but why take the risk .......
Like the guy above said insurance is the #1 defense cause they might not steal anything but they might get pissed and just torch the car ...... no reason to spend thousands of dollars on upgrades if you dont buy the basics, alarm, seats locks, etc ......
