Cindy got robbed !!
I have to believe in my heart that when all is said and done, examples of human filth like this will eventually get theirs. Whatever happened to working for your acqusitions? I rate car thieves no lower than someone holding a gun to a teller while robbing a bank. You want to raise my taxes to build more prisons? Go ahead. I'll open my wallet for that if it means avoiding paying yet another deductible because some punks wanted a $60 shifter and cool looking car seats.
to you Cindy...hang in there. You'll be back on the road soon enough.
Get those seat locks! They're at least as important as the alarm.

Cindy,
Dont feel bad about your lack of locks. I know I'm in the minority here, but I firmly believe they are NOT a theft deterrent. Why? Because the theif cannot tell that you have them until he has already ripped open your top and gotten inside the car.
Does anybody really think a thief, when confronted with seat locks, will go "aww gee whiz! I can't steal them. Damn my luck!" and simply exit the vehicle peacefully? If you do, I think you are being overly optimistic in your perception of scumbags.
Its far more likely the thief will become enraged that you have "wasted his time". He will be angry that he risked getting caught breaking into your car, only to have it be for nothing. At that point, he's likely to slash up the seats, the dashboard and anything else he can get his hands on, because you have pissed him off. If you are very unlucky, he might smash a headlight and kick in a few good dents to the body for good measure.
I say this because when my Civic was broken into, they destroyed everything they couldnt take with them. These people are just that way!
The only thing seat locks protect you from (in my opinion) is the thief who sees your top down while you are at the beach and thinks he can quickly remove them before anybody sees him.
So, don't feel bad. If you had locks, I think you would have woken up this morning to find your seats still in the car but slashed up anyway.
As Mitch has correctly pointed out when I present this argument before, you would at least get to drive the car while seats are on order, so maybe that's worth something.

I look at the locks this way...he may have slashed my seats, but I would have to replace them regardless...and at least THEY didn't get any use out of them. Maybe the next car they try to break into gets them nabbed.

Don't be mad at yourself Cin. Even if you would have had the seat locks, your top would be still slashed and your car may be in far worse shape then it is now. Just get a good, annoying
alarm when you get him back.
I got them on mine but I figure that combined with my crazy sensitive alarm, the assholes will most likely see that they cannot unbolt the seats easily and quickly leave since my alarm should be going crazy at that point.
But in the end, remember its just a car.

Cindy, sorry for your loss. You might want to check with OG Packin to see if he's sold his OEM seats yet.
Thanks all.. But ya know.. I'm not really pissed so much about the car and the seats. The guys over at Maroone have been really great with me so far and he's actually noticed some scratches in the car i didn't notice at first. I guess when they took the seats out the scratched up the door frame. Anywho.. right now the one thing i am the most furious, upset, and distrubed about... is the lack of the effort from the Police department. I think thats the thing thats pissed everyone off I know. My bro who's a firefighter was furious and even placed a call in and they told him the same thing.. "It's now protocall to just fill out a police report over the phone". Now i'm stuck driving this damn POS Ford Fucus. UGHHH and worst of all it's freaking ghetto and missing a hub cap! The guy at Enterprise was real nice and he's gonna try to get me a better car, he saw i wasn't too happy with it.
Gan, I'm good with the insurance stuff for now. They've pretty much handled everything. I Don't have to worry about anything but how long it's gonna get my baby back.
