While your at it explain to him the little charge back scam your trying to pull on my boys shop......

I didn't even asked for that money back from the bank.
The only portion I am charging back is the work he charged but didn't do properly.
1) He didn't put the timing chain tensioner properly (it was missing a spring or something) and everybody told me that I am sooo lucky my engine didn't explode.
2) He didn't remove the idler pin and because of that, my car couldn't get tuned because it messed up all the timing on the car.
3) I told him not to put a headgasket on my car (because it was expensive IMO), but he installed it either ways and I told him that I don't want it. He told me he needs to charge me again for removing it!?!?!? and he said "he thought" I would do it in future so he did it either ways.
Even though he charged me a lot more money than he previously quoted, I didn't request a chargeback. I am only asking back the portion that he charged but didn't do properly. I paid more than $1000 to fix the improper work he did on my car.
Do you still think this is a scam?? I never said anything bad about their business here. I didn't post anything that would affect their business. I am an honest person. I got overcharged at other tune shops too but never asked for a dime back because all the work was done properly even though it was a lot more than it should.
Just answer me this: You go to a shop to get an oil change. They tell you it is $50. When you go back there to pick up your car, the bill somehow becomes $200. When you ask the reason, they tell you that they changed some other stuff on the car thinking that you might need it in the future. And 2 months later, you realize that he didn't do the work right and you pay another $200 to fix the improper work.
I understand he is your friend and everything but he wasn't being honest with me.
[QUOTE=batikan,Oct 4 2006, 04:39 PM]i am not trying to pull anything with him. He told me that the SC installation was $600-$700 and then when I went there to pick up my car, he charged me $1400 and told me that he won't give me my car back if I don't pay.
I didn't even asked for that money back from the bank.

-I do all my work to my car unless it is out of my knowledge and experiance. Whats the point of saying you build a car if you dont do the work yourself. But i understand your point. It dosnt hurt to get your hands dirty....
-You bring a half ass USED SC kit missing parts and you expect him to put it together as is??? come on
-i was present when your car was being worked on, on many occasions
-Patients pays off (but for some reason you dont have it)
-he has never had issues like this with customers unless they are impatient, shady, or assholes.
-Correct $600-$700 is what he charges if you have EVERYTHING ready for install, obviously you didnt.
-He has no reason to be dishonest with you nor anybody. he has been ****ed over many times but what go's around surely comes around.

When I brought the kit to him, I asked him if it is complete. Because if it wasn't, I was going to return it to the seller. Me and the seller both agreed to this on the purchase. When he checked it, he said it is complete and nothing was missing. I didn't know much about the car as I do now so I didn't know if there was anything missing. Since he said it is complete, I finished the transaction with the seller. After more than a week, he said something is missing. and after a few days, he said it will be ready this afternoon. I call him he doesn't answer and next day another guy at his shop calls me and says "ohh this is missing". How can I possibly know that they are actually missing. He told me that it was complete.
He kept my car there for more than a month. Believe me, I do have patience.
I paid him $3000+ for engine swap and SC install. And I am not trying to get all money back. OK, so he overcharged me but i DID pay for everything he did properly. I didn't ask for any money back for the engine install, or the SC. All I am trying to get back is the part I had to pay again because of the improper work. What if my motor blew because of the timing chain tensioner? then what?
I know he is your friend and everything but you (and him) have to understand that I am not asking for any overcharges. Just the stuff he charged me but didn't do right. I didn't even ask any money for the headgasket which he installed and charged me without asking.
The other shop had to take out the SC again to take out that small idler pin. I had to get a new timing chain tensioner. (you probably remember I was looking for one) all the labor. That is the only part I am asking back.
Just put yourself in my situation...
Isn't there a little paper the shop asks the customer to sign with all the work descrption and the price of the job in order to prevent this problems? Isn't against the law to do something the owner doesn't agree to? I know Max is a straight up guy and he wouldn't screw anyone over but it seems your friend screwed up a little. Thats what I see. #1 The installer for doing things to the car he was not authorized to do (he should of reached the owner of the car to let him know of the situation) #2 If he did, he should of gave him the option to pick up his car if he didn't want to pay the difference for the missing parts. The truth is the guy doing the job should give his input on this and so we know both halfs of the story. Good Night!
Oh and yeah, and what Sarek said...

I never posted anything bad about the shop before. I don't want to effect their business. They might be a good shop. I am not saying he is a scammer or anything. He was a knowledged guy. It's just that I didn't have a good experience with him. I really got angry at first when I saw the bill which was double of what he quoted but then I said, "at least the car is done" but then when I realized he didn't do the work right, that was it for me.
As for Veilside AP1, I totally understand that he is standing up for his friend. I would of course do the same thing. I met him before when I bought his T1R from him and he really looked like a nice guy. It's just that he probably just knew his friends side of the story.
I am gonna say this once again. I did not request for stuff he overcharged. I got overcharged at other places too but never said a word. I am only asking for the part he did not properly do and made me pay for everything again to fix it.

Hey guys, after speaking with the administrators from S2Ki, I just found out that this site has one of the coolest features!!
If you look towards the bottom of each post, under where your sig goes, there is a little blue button with two little faceless people and the letters "PM" next to them. Apparently you can use this freature to communicate with any member on this board
This looks like it's going to be a shitslinging fest.
