Travel time from Miami itself.. count on roughly 12-14 hours of road time.

Yes, in a perfect world, one is able to travel the 900 miles in 10 hours. But then there is this thing called food and gas, and lets not forget the infamous "Cole Trickle" pit stops.

This is generally broken up into a multi part trip, the goal being to end up somewhere slightly north of Atlanta. on Thursday night.

On friday morning.. we hit the remainder driving .. approx 6-8 hours of driving.. depending on how many times.. we turn around and go for another run through the 'fun parts'.

Hope that helps...

AAHHHH....memories....If you haven't done the Dragon, you REALLY should try to squeeze this one in. I believe the leaves will be changin' (NATURES COLORS!), the 'rapids' (which I want to see this time...CO are you listening??) will be rollin', and OF COURSE the most amazing VIEWS while driving the most beautiful roadways at 5900ft elevations, and lets NOT include the "night time affairs" and you know whats next. LATIN guys ARE VERY WELCOMED in this part of rural AMERICANA, mami's that have no clue......................

Seriously, PM Droptopgirl or DaWorm...they are BOTH very knowledgeble on the subject of seeing the better sites and rolling the better roads...priceless.

My name is Erick, and I am a DRAGON addict...

Ok guys some of you have met me. I'm Nic with the lower silvertone with exhaust. Anyway i have a cabin in Andrews N. Carolina which is close to the dragon. It can comfortably fit around 10 people (8 guests, me and the fiance). There is one bunk bed (fits 2 or 3). One king size bed (for me and the fiance) and 2 couches. Then there is plenty of room for inflatable matresses. We could sqeeze in more than 10 if needed. I'm not sure exactly how long of a drive it is from my cabin to the Dragon but i'm pretty sure it is less than an hour. The cabin is also less than an hour away from a pretty fun river for river rafting called the Nantahala river. The only problem is that the cabin is up on the side of a mountain and it is only accesable from a windy dirt road with a steap incline in the begining. It is a small town and it is pretty dam crime free so we could all park our cars at a hotel that is right at the bottom of the mountain and take turns car-pooling up. I am dying to go to the dragon and I will try to get enough time off to go up. SO if you see me at the local meeting talk to me and we can all see what we can work out or if you think you know me then just PM me for anything. CYA

Nic

Nic, I'm not sure if I know you, but that is a very nice gesture. PM Warren or Di, they usually make out the plans. See you at the next meet.
