Driving in Ireland
Hi everybody, I just came back this morning from Ireland, I spent all of last week driving around. From Dublin South and to the West. I drove the Ring of Kerry on the West coast and let me tell you it was fun, narrow and twisty and driving on the left. I wonder if that compares to the Tail of the Dragon. Anybody done that in Ireland?
I've driven in Ireland quite extensively. Same areas as you a few times.
I will say that the Dragon is much better than those roads. Turns are sharper and tighter. What makes the roads in Ireland difficult are the narrowness and general condition of the roads. While there are twists, turns, and huge drop offs, its hard to go fast due to the conditions and the fact you need to pull off in some spots when the road goes to 1 and 1/2 lanes! Especially when the tour busses are coming. They don't stop for ANYONE!

KeithD, right now they are repaving all over the place so on top of what you said ,we had to contend with detours and flag men. On the Ring of Kerry, there were a lot of blind turns where we would have a wall of rock or a side of a mountain on our left side, we did the Ring opposite of the way the tour buses run.
