Reviving this thread from the dead. I am gonna be in the Coral Gables area (Miracle Mile) this weekend any restaurant recommendations in that area? First time in the Miami area for me and my wife. Like just about most types of food - nothing too exotic though.

Also looking to do some snorkeling - I'll have my own gear - any recommendations in that area? Thanks.

on miracle mile I would suggest Houston's, Benihana, ruth's chris (probably not what youre looking for). There's also a pretty good German restaurant down there that i cant remember the name of...

down the road at the village of merrick park is the yardhouse which has pretty good food and a great selection of beer on tap.

I feel like im forgetting one of my favorite places in that area...cant think of it right now...

Casa D'Angelo is one of my all time favorites.

Seems like a lot of you agree. You should also check out his new Tapas place,

D'Angelo Pizza & Tapas 4215 N Federal Highway -- This is just south of Holy Cross Hospital.

Haven't been to the Yardhouse in FL (only the one in HI), but do they have Rogue Dead Guy Ale?

wow...just saw this page and saw someone wrote Yardhouse already.

Place is PACKED on fri and sat so come early/reserve and STILL come early or plan to wait atleast an hour to get in anytime passed 8pm. Merrick Place is a beautiful mall and the location couldnt be classier. The place is worth a stop, and the beer selection is HUGE. I got my buddy a gift card from there for his birthday this weekend.

oliver: shula's and texas de brazil are my choice for steak.

benihana- yes they do. they have everything. k24accord was with me a few others this past saturday and he had the dogfish ipa in the half yard glass. he can chime in on that id he reads this.

saturday i had 2 half yards, a regular kronenberg, and dinner and including tip it all came out to about $60 which is not bad for such a nice place with the selection that they have
