Default Gas Prices

OK well I posted this in the FL section also. But Im going to be traveling from Nashville to the keys and was wondering what the gas prices are like. I will probably post something a little later on about seeing who would like to meet up or something when Im down there.
Thanks,
Bryan

What route are you taking?? If you are taking I-75/Turnpike, expect the gas prices to be a little expensive (at least for us) on the turnpike. They will be around $2.25+/- for Premium on the Turnpike service plazas. Once you hit Miami they can range from $2.10 - $2.18. I just put gas today and it was $2.13 I know the gas station around the corner was $2.15.

If you're coming through Georgia, gasoline prices are much less there than in FL, so I'd fill up before crossing the state line. If you're coming through Alabama, it may be a similar situation.

We are planning on taking the turnpike most of the way. Unless anybody has a faster way to get to the keys. Also how long is the turnpike? and do you think that I can make it all the way on the turnpike with just a full tank? Also gas is going to be expensive for me cause were paying $1.97 or so right now for 93. But thanks for the info.

I posted some prices in the thread you wrote in the Florida forum, however you'll need more than a tank of gas to go through the whole Turnpike. When I lived in Gainesville, I could make the 360 mi trip from door to door (I live in Miami) in one tank in my Camaro, but I don't think the S would make that trip unless you're running lean, and babying the pedal. The turnpike starts about 60-70 miles south of Gainesville off of I-75, and then runs all the way down to Homestead, about 3 hours north of Key West. Tolls will be approximately $20 one way. At certain points, you could jump over to I-95 and head down to Key West without any tolls. Hope this helps, and yes...you won't regret stopping by Sofa King (just look at my badge).

Yes Tolls will run about $20 each way Please keep that in mind if you want to do the Turnpike run.

You can go straight down I-75 until Miami and Hop on Turnpike just south of Miramar Pkwy and go down to Keys from there to avoid as many tolls, but there is one toll on I-75 in Alligator alley.

You can do I-75/Turnpike then hop on to I-95 in Cocoa Beach come down all the way on I-95 to State Road 836 then head down Palmetto South or continue on State road 836 until Turnpike which in all honesty is REALLY far. Going from west to east to west again.

Your best shot down will be I-75/Turnpike, just keep in mind $$ for gas and tolls.

Gas is cheap here in comparison to Cali, where Premium went as high as $3/gallon last year.
