I have decided to reopen this topic for a concern that we have. There seems to be a lack of willing people to work on these cars. Those that need work done, do you feel comfortable working on your own car?

Here is the updated list of work needing to be done:

S2ksuzuka: Fluids / tools
Erick S: Fluids
Myculito: Fluids / slave cylinder mod (what is this? time to install?)
machine age victim: Knowledge
Buzilanga: Knowledge
Batikan: Springs (may not have enough time) / rotors / tools
Verist: straight pipe / slave mod
Jalin-o: gas tank problem (questionable on time)
hondahead 420: header
designfreak: fluids / diffusors / tools
doorman: fluids / pads / clutch lines
lhp sailor1p: fluids
nip2k1s2k: fluids / valve adj. ( questionable on attendence of someone to do)

Batikan has been nice enough to allow us to use his house for the tech day, he lives in Boca Raton. There appears to be room to do 2 cars at once. However, with the limited number of people willing to actually do the work it is going to be difficult to get 7 fluid changes, and the other necessary work done. In the past owners have done there own work with several to supervise. If everyone is comfortable with that, let me know.

My plan was to have this tech day next Sunday, October 16. Starting in the morning at around 9-10am. However, this important element will put a damper on the day. I will check this thread through the day and see who is actually willing to do work and if interest level doesn't rise then the tech day will be canceled.

Please chime in.

If I'm properly guided, I don't mind doing my own work.

Im good with the 16th, but you should note that alot of people will be participating in the mazda autocross event this weekend. I myself am going saturday, so sun isnt a prob, but it will make it harder to get other people to go.

Oh.. the 16th is Perfect!!!!!!! I'm off for the weekend for once. I will be there for sure, even if my seats are not in. I'm willing to do the work and help others after/before mine is done.

I have heard back from 4 of the 10 that want work done plus 1 extra, thanks suzukas2000!

Understand these tech days are not an opportunity to get someone else to do your work for free. We are happy to share our knowledge and skills, but ask that you yourself put forth some effort.

As of right now the following cars we will do on Sunday 10/16:

Myculito: Fluids only (slave mod may have to wait unless someone knows how to do it)

s2ksuzuka: Fluids only

Verist: Straight pipe (Slave mod see above)

designfreak: Fluids only (no one to do diffusors)

Batikan: rotors (springs if time permits and proper help is avail.)

If no one else reports in by tomorrow night then the tech day is closed and the above cars is all that we will do.

Make sure we have oil drip pans, sockets, pump guns, and rags. If you have these please chime in.

Also bring some drinks and snacks for munching through the day.

Thanks!

I may take care of my car on sat with the help of a friends lift, If so I can assist with some of the other cars and could possible help with the diffusors.

i have torque wranch and some hand tools as well.
i also have spring compressor, so... with a lil help we can do the springs in 1.5 to 2 hours.

if someone has clutch bleeding tool, i can do ap1 slave cylinder as well, i have experience with this. slave cylinder is easy, only like 3 bolts, just the bleeding part is pain in the ASS.

by the way, if you change the slave, you are gonna have to adjust clutch engagement point as well... this is easy but, take few tries to get where you are confortable with.

i'm looking forward for this, i hope a lot of people show up.

Sunday wont work for me, but I'd like to "swing" by and meet you guys. Later in the afternoon if possible. Please PM me with location, and like I said, no tools, but I'll bring food and drinks...or beer if requested. Stay safe..
