Hey people within the next 2 months I'm probably gonna pick up a used S2k so where's a good shop to take it to make sure its in good condition (ft. laud or miami areas)? I will make sure to do a carfax too. Also, anything to look for other than the usual stuff and scatches in the rear window (pre 02s)?

s2ks have been my favorite cars to look at so hopefully I can fit (6'2"). I couldn't fit in a new gen 99+ miata because the steering wheel was too low and didn't have tilt. Ive heard of ppl taller than me fitting in miatas idk how though. A z3 had much more leg room (height to steering wheel). Thanks for the info,

I would try to buy a certified one from a Honda Dealer. At least they should stand behind it. When buying a used sports car you have to remember that a lot of them have been driven hard.

Maybe you can find one that a little old lady had because she thought it was cute. I know of another member that just bought an 02 with 6000 miles on it this way.

 

I have no problem getting it inspected by a dealer but in my limited experience dealers cars are wayyy overpriced! Dealer wanted 14k for 02 civic si with 49k miles and had been smoked in! I found another for less money and a lot less miles. They wouldn't budge as far as negotiating either. I will probably have to buy off a "shady used car lot" to get in the price range im looking for (17-19k, hopefully under 45k). I figure that even tho they have prolly been driven hard, its a honda, so as long as oil changes are on time and inpection comes out ok, it should be fine.
